Today’s cruise took us through Gaspirilla
Bay , past Boca Grande inlet, across Charlotte Harbor
then to our anchorage near Cayo Costa State Park in Pelican Bay . This anchorage
is one of the biggest and deepest (8’ high tide) that we have come across since
getting in FL. There are nine other boats anchored here with plenty of room for
more. There is a dock for small boats and a ferry boat from the main land to
tie up to. They also offer primitive cabins and tent camping. Tomorrow we will
do some exploring on the Island .
Bridge we went through in Gaspirilla Bay.
Old RR bridge now used as fishing pier.
