Monday March 3 – Sunday March 9

0 miles

This past week we met with 2 couples that have cruised the Atlantic ICW (Intracostal Waterway) many times. Since we will be leaving Marathon soon and working our way north through the ICW, these couples gave us some local knowledge on where to anchor and what marinas to stay in.

Thursday we had a big storm come through. The winds and rain came around 3:30 pm and stayed going all night. As one boater stated we had a nice rinse and blow dry on our boats.

Saturday and Sunday the city of Marathon held their annual Seafood Festival. This festival has seafood (of course), bands, beer, and over 170 venders selling just about anything from sunglasses, boats, t-shirts, art, etc. On Sat. Randy & I volunteered to help in one of the food tents. All of the volunteers receive a t-shirt which gets them into the Festival free both days and all the seafood (and beer) we could eat while we were working. It was a rough job but somebody had to do it.

You can defiantly pick out the volunteers with this color shirt.
