Saturday Aug. 24 

 We are still at Alton Marina. Last night we went to a concert at the amphitheater which is right next to the marina. There were 2 bands that played and both were very good. The second band called Changes in Latitude played a lot of Jimmy Buffet music.

 

 

 This morning we took a bike ride early because the weather forecast is for 90 + degrees. Our neighbors next to us on the dock took us to the grocery store for a few supplies. Later we went to the pool and floated around.

 This is a very busy port. 2 tall ships came in to dock (the Nina and Pinta). We went over and talked to one of the crew and he told us they were built in Brazil and sailed over here. They motor not sail in the rivers because their sails are to big. A large paddle boat came in just for one night. It is used as a cruise ship.

The marina is celebrating their anniversary this weekend. Later tonight they are hosting a BBQ dinner and there will be a band.
