Mon. March 31

0 miles    Faber Cove, Fort Pierce, FL

The anchorage we stopped in last night was another very protected bay surrounded by houses. Since we are only 1 mile away from the boatyard that is hauling out the boat on Tues. we stayed at this anchorage for another day.

We took the dinghy for a ride and found a nice park with a launch ramp that we could tie up and go for a walk. Through the park and across the road was a nice public beach along the Atlantic. After walking a couple of miles we came to the Fort Pierce Inlet. There was a nice channel wall to walk on or sit and enjoy the view. Along the way we had lunch at a restaurant right on the beach.

1 mile    Faber Cove, Fort Pierce to Cracker Boy Boatyard, Fort Pierce, FL

You know the saying “be careful what you wish for”? Well…. After we left Marathon I mentioned to Randy the last time we had been tied to a dock was Dec. 26 and I was ready to be on land again. I meant “I” was ready for land not the boat. I would have been perfectly happy to be tied to a dock so I could get off.

We pulled into Cracker Boy boatyard at 8:00 am and they had us hauled out, the bottom cleaned and all settled on stands and blocks by 9:15. Tomorrow we will find out what needs to be done with the props. Meanwhile we are high and dry (literally) for the next several days.
