53 miles    Cracker Boy Boatyard, Ft. Pierce to Banana River Lagoon

We are back in the water and on our way north. Boy does she run smooth and we are even getting better fuel economy (not much but every bit helps). Today we traveled past Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Melbourne to get to our anchorage for the night in Banana River Lagoon. To get in the anchorage we had to go around Dragon Point. This point used to be the home of a 65’ long, 20 ton cement and steel Dragon called Annie, which collapsed in 2002.

These little islands are called spoil islands and are formed by dredging the ICW.

As these spoil islands get bigger they are used as parks.

What's left of Annie the Dragon.

We needed to open this bridge to get to our anchorage.
