Mon. April 13

0 miles    Titusville Marina, FL

The marina has a courtesy van so we took advantage of it and went to buy some groceries. When we got back to the boat we left the dock at the marina and went to a mooring ball. (it’s a lot cheaper – the Dutch comes out again) We decided to stay one more day because there was a rocket scheduled to take off at 5 pm. Well that didn’t happen, the launch was canceled and rescheduled for Fri. the 18th.

48 miles     Titusville Marina, FL to Daytona, FL

Today’s ride started out the usual, cruising on the ICW passing by some nice boats, some questionable boats, a lot of mangroves and little islands and through several towns. Then came the fun part. A storm starting rolling in about 2 pm with some nasty looking clouds. We were hoping to get to our anchorage before it hit. No such luck. We were 3 miles short when the storm hit us. The wind blew so hard (50 mph) rain was coming at us sideways. It tipped the boat and pushed us off track. Yeah you guessed it, off track means out of the channel. We grounded hard!!! We didn’t even try to get out of this one. Randy just shut down the engines and we called Tow Boat US. An hour and a half later we were off our little private island and under way to an anchorage near Daytona with no damage to those nice props we just had fixed.
