Sun. April 12

0 miles    Titusville Marina, FL

Today we toured the Kennedy Space Center. First we took a bus tour which took us past several of the launch pads that had been used to send off rockets. Then we watched 2, 3D movies and learned all about the Hubble Space Telescope and the Space Station. This place is amazing. It brought back a lot of childhood memories watching not only the rockets being launched but also the first landing on the moon.

A closer look at the Vehicle Assembly building.

These are the tracks used to carry the rockets out to the launch pads.
The vehicles used to carry the rockets burned 1 gallon of fuel per 32 feet.
(and I thought we used a lot of fuel)

 Launch pad.

 Control Center.

 Alan Shepard's space suit.

 Space Shuttle Atlantis.

"Danger Will Robinson".... Bring back any memories?
