Friday Sept. 6

18 miles   Sugar Bay to Ginger Bay, KY

It was time to say good bye to our new friends Gary & Christelle. Our plans are to travel a little further the next couple of days and they wanted to stay closer to the area we had been in for the next couple of weeks. Someday we will cross paths again. We were on the way by 0930. As we travel along there are green and red buoys just like back home to mark the channel. Even though the past week we have been traveling in a lake you still need to have a marked channel to keep you out of the shallow water. All the channels and rivers are marked with mile markers just like roads. Most are in the water but some are on land. As we passed one marker we noticed an Osprey had taken advantage of this spot to build a nest.

The last couple of days we have had helicopters flying past. Not sure if there is a base near here or if they are just out checking the waters or the National park.

At 1140 we reached Ginger Bay. We will anchor in this bay for the evening.
