Thursday Nov. 7
9 miles 0830-1000 Ingrams Bayou to Orange Beach, FL.
It was a little cooler today at 65 degrees and very windy. Today
was a short day because we wanted to stop at the Flora-Bama in Orange Beach .
The Flora-Bama is a roadhouse built right on the border of Florida
and Alabama
with 5 different bars in it. For the next 2 weeks they are having a Country Song
Writers Festival. These performers are coming from all over to play and sing at
the roadhouse. From the marina we just had to cross the street to get to the
roadhouse and from there a few more steps and we were at the beach on the Gulf of Mexico . We didn’t last long on the beach because the
wind was blowing too strong. We spent the evening listening to some new and
upcoming talent. Some of these performers were very good.

Flora-Bama Yacht club. Not your typical Yacht club.
You can walk in here wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
Friday Nov. 8
60 miles 0950-1630 Orange Beach to Ft. Walton, FL.
The temperature and the winds were about the same today. Most
of our time traveling today all we had separating us from the Gulf
of Mexico was a very narrow piece of land. Sometimes wide enough
to have high rise condos and other times sandy beaches. Several times during
our ride dolphins would swim along side of us. I was standing on the side of
the boat trying to get some pictures of jellyfish that were floating past and 2
dolphins jump out of the water right next to me. If they had jumped 2 feet
higher I would have been able to touch them. Sooooo cool!!!!!!!
We stopped for the night at a free dock in Fort Walton, FL.
