Wednesday Nov. 6
40 miles    Mobile Bay to Ingrams Bayou, AL
The winds finally slowed down so we pulled out of the marina at 0915. Crossing Mobile Bay reminded us of Lake MI. with its wide expanse of water.
Freighter headed to Mobile.

Shrimp boat

30 miles later we cruised into the narrow channel of the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway). The ICW is a 3,000 mile waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States. Some sections to the waterway consist of natural inlets, saltwater rivers, bays, and sounds, while others are artificial canals. It provides a navigable route along its length without many of the hazards of travel on the open sea. This section of the ICW starts in Houston, TX and goes to Carrabelle, FL. Once we get to Carrabelle we will have to leave the ICW and cross the Gulf in the open water. (more about that when we get there)

 Hurricane shutters on the windows.

Lulus' restaurant. Jimmy Buffet's sister owns this.

Standard pelican on a post. (In MI its seagulls)

Our stop for the night at 1430 is at an anchorage in Ingrams Bayou. This will be our last night in the state of Alabama.
