11 miles 1115 – 1300 Tarpon Springs to Caladesi, FL.
Tarpon Springs is mainly a Greek community so last night we
had dinner at an authentic Greek restaurant called Mykonos .
Our waitress, Niki, was born in Greece
and came over to the United States
about 9 years ago. She owns her own cleaning business and helps out at the
restaurant part time. She helped us pick out some great tasting food. This will
definitely be a place to come back to.
After topping off the fuel tanks we set off for Caladesi Island . This is a State Park located
between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal
waterway just south of Tarpon Springs.
Priorities leaving Turtle Cove marina. Wait a minute the boat is leaving without me!!!
Not really, I'm going to meet them at the fuel dock.
Mangrove Islands as we are heading out of Tarpon Springs.
A couple of Ospreys. The one on the left has dinner.
Anclote Key lighthouse
Channel going into Caladesi State Park.
The channel is lined on both sides with mangroves.
Caladesi Island State Park marina.
Looks like you two are having a ball, meeting new friends and seeing new sights. How great is that? Glad to hear the trip has been smooth so far. Great job on the blog and pictures, keep 'em coming so we can share in the adventure.
