Friday Oct. 25

0 miles

Last night the wind changed direction and these milfoil plants started floating into the marina.

This morning we did some cleaning and maintenance on the boat. This afternoon we took the marinas courtesy van and toured the nearby Waverley Mansion. It was built in 1852 and is a beautiful example of an antebellum plantation home of the south. The family that owns the mansion is in the process of bringing it back to its original glory. Most of the inside has already been redone and it was amazing. (no cameras were allowed inside) Our tour guide was the daughter of the owner and she was a delight to listen to as she told the history of the mansion.

The oldest magnolia tree in Mississippi is in the mansions front yard.
