Tuesday Oct. 1
61 miles Little TN River mm#5.5 to Tenn. river mm #547
It’s now October and it sure seems strange not to have to
think about putting the boat away for the winter. The weather here today was 77
degrees and partly sunny. We pulled out of our anchorage at 0910 and headed
toward our only lock of the day. Upon arriving at the Fort Loudoun
lock we were told it would be a 2 hour wait. We dropped the anchor and waited
till they put a tow and several barges though the lock. Since we are going down
stream we will be dropping in the locks from now on. We are traveling along the
same way we had come only a week ago but that day was misty and overcast so
this time we got to see a lot more of the landscape.
Great Smokey Mountains
We found out it’s not just in Knoxville that people really get into the
Tennessee Volunteers team colors.
Even the fenders are orange on this boat.
Maybe the football team should use this to scare their opponents.
I was surprised the T wasn't orange.
This one I couldn't resist. Orange dirt in Tennessee!
At 1700 we stopped for the night in the same cove that we
had anchored in on the way to Knoxville .
I can't tell you how much I enjoy following your journey.........what an awesome idea of a blog, not only are you recording everything for your children, and their children..........you are recording history...........Thanks
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad you two have the chance to live your dream. Thanks for taking us with on your journey via your blog. We had an awesome couple of boating weeks up here but unlike you, we had to put her away for the winter. Keep on enjoying!
