Wednesday Oct. 9

46 miles    Guntersville to Decatur, AL.

As we were getting ready to leave this morning we noticed this guy in our aft salon. We think it is some kind of moth but couldn’t find anything that resembled him on line.

We pulled out of our anchorage at 1010 and pulled into Guntersville lock. We shared the lock with one other boat. Not far down river we passed Painted Bluff which is the end of Merrill Mountain. It stands more than 350 feet high and gets its name from the yellow and brown rock.

We arrived in Decatur at 1445 and tied up to the free dock for the night. Took a nice long walk and found a cemetery with some headstones dating back to the Civil war.
