We are back in Guntersville at the free dock. There is a
nice bike path near the boat so we took the bikes out for a ride. While we were
out riding George and Sandy (we met them when we stopped in Guntersville on the
way to Knoxville )
gave us a call and asked if we would like to go to Cosco with them. So off we
went for the afternoon to Huntsville
to do some shopping.
Had a nice quite evening on the boat.

Went for a walk down town and I got a haircut (I guess it
was time after 3 months). The stylist blew dry my hair straight and Randy
almost didn’t recognize me. He has never seen my hair straight and I told him
neither have I.
At 1415 we decided to move to an anchorage a short distance
away for the night. Not far from this anchorage carved in the stone wall is the
following: Gen. Andrew Jackson 1813-1914, Ala. D.A.R. This inscription dates
back to 1914 and is over a cave, now underwater, where supplies were stored for
Gen. Jackson while he was enroute to the Creek Indian War.
Not far from this inscription there is a cave just above the
waterline which is a sanctuary for the endangered Gray bat. At dusk, these bats
fly from the cave to feed on insects. So we took the dinghy out and waited for
the bats to come out. While there we found some other inhabitants of the cave.
Just past this cave was our anchorage for the night. Dropped
anchor at 1520.
