32 miles          Brewerton, NY to Oswego, NY

Today we went through 8 locks. Our last lock on the Erie Canal and 7 on the Oswego Canal. We tied up on a wall in Oswego looking out the channel toward Lake Ontario. Tomorrow if the weather forecast is correct we will take off north across Lake Ontario and be in Canada by afternoon. We will not have internet coverage in Canada so updates to the blog for at least the next month will be sporadic if at all. Bye for now.

The town of Phoenix. There is a volunteer group of kids (called the Bridge House Brats)
who care for the waterfront and for tips will deliver meals from local restaurants,
escort you to local stores, and help carry provisions back to your boat.

Coming into this lock there was a bridge with a clearance of 12' when we first came in the lock.

After dropping 10' we had plenty of room to get under it.

Here the river paralleled the canal with just cement and a lock between.

 Coming into Oswego.

Again the river paralleling the canal (here for about a 1/2 mile).
There was a 10' drop between.

 From the boat looking back.

Looking out the front of the boat toward Lake Ontario past the break wall.
