43 miles         Herkimer, NY to Sylvan Beach, NY

Today was a nice laid back travel day with sunshine and temps. hitting the 80’s. This stretch of the canal was narrow and had a lot of flowers along the banks and birds singing in the trees. We passed through 4 locks. The first 2 continued down and the second 2 we locked up.

Our stay for the night is in Sylvan Beach which is on the shores of Lake Oneida. They offer a free wall to tie up to which is within a ½ mile of the Lake. After tying up we took a walk through town. There is a walking/bike path along the water, past a nice park and beach.
