Mon. June 2     0730/1530

55 miles        Saugerties, NY to Waterford, NY

Today was sunny, 83 degrees, with a light south wind. A perfect day to be out on the water. We traveled through more beautiful country passing the occasional small towns and marinas. Toward the end of our day we passed through Albany and Troy. Just after Troy we had to go through a lock which lifted us up 10 feet. 2 miles after the lock we came to a fork in the river. The right side will take you up the Champlain Canal and to the left you go to the Erie Canal. We turned to the left and stopped at Waterford. Here they have a floating dock to tie up to and all you pay is $10 for electric. (no matter how many nights you stay) If it gets busy they prefer you to leave after 48 hrs.

 Cruising the Hudson.

Our tax dollars at work.
