Mon. June 23     0900/1100

16 miles           Bobcaygeon (lock 32) to Fenelon Falls (lock 34)

We left lock 32 to a cloudy sky and 30 degrees Celsius (sounds cold but it’s really 78 degrees Fahrenheit). Since arriving in Canada we had to get used to converting Celsius to Fahrenheit and kilometers into mph. Our cruise took us through Sturgeon Lake to Fenelon Falls. Houses and cottages dotted the shore line on both sides of the lake.

Around here they use boats and sea planes to get around.

This lock offers power (or as the Canadians call it hydro) and water. We decided to plug in and get some laundry done and wash the boat. After our work was done we took a walk through town and around the lock to check out the falls the town is named for.

Lock 34.

Main Street all decked out with flowers.

We finally saw our first Canadian Mountie.
